Dan's parents were bringing us dinner and arrived earlier than expected, so we were all caught off guard. Jenny left very quickly and I felt like we were pushing her out. I hope she didn't feel that way. Hopefully next time she comes over it will be uninterrupted.
Dan's parents spend some time taking pictures of the boys and catching up, then we finally had a delicious dinner of chicken linguine, breadsticks, and angel food cake for dessert. They also gave me a beautiful bouquet of roses, which are two toned!
Dan's mom also made me a bracelet. For every child, each mother (me and my 2 sister in laws) is made a bracelet with the child's name, just like every mother gets a blanket.
Right before 7:00 we lost power. Of course my hormones got the best of me and I became very upset. There is no good time for the power to go out, but for our family bedtime is the worst. We have to get Jake ready for bed, warm a bottle, clean dishes from dinner, and navigate the house in the middle of the night to feed Caleb. Thankfully Dan was there to calm me down and we ended up talking and snuggling. Most nights, Dan plays his game while I read and we are in separate rooms. It was nice to relax and get his undivided attention. The power came back on around midnight, but we had to use a flashlight to help us with Caleb. Losing power sucks, but losing power with 2 kids under 2 is a nightmare.
Sorry you had a stressful evening!!! Losing power at bedtime with little ones is never fun. :( Glad you and Daniel were able to have a nice evening together, though!
