Tired, tired, tired

I am so glad for a 3 day weekend.  Since Gavin is missing 16 hours of therapy a week, I find myself more stressed and tired than usual.  He has been missing 10 hours for a month because the therapist was promoted and the company never found a replacement for her.  I think they never hired another one was because Gavin's mom never complained about the lost hours and they didn't feel the need to fill it.  Now another therapist is done, leaving Gavin with only 12 hours of therapy a week when he should be getting 20.  This makes me so mad.  They are robbing him of hours and no one seems to care but me.  When I talk to the mom about it, she fluffs it off and says there's nothing she can do.

These last few weeks Gavin has been very bored and restless and starts getting into mischief.  I find him playing in the dogs bowls, playing in the toilet, opening kitchen cupboards and pulling things out and chewing on them, pouring Jakes formula water all over himself.. The list is endless.  I spend most of my days chasing him around.  I started putting him in a large corner with books and toys and block him in.  But anytime I get up (to use the bathroom or get a snack) he immediately runs away and finds trouble.

It's hard enough watching 3 kids, let alone a special needs one.  My stress level has gone through the roof.  School starts next week for both Gavin and Audrey so it should be better, but as of right now, it's very fustrating.  Sorry to vent............

Almost ready........

Our house is coming along nicely.  The wiring is done, and they are currently finishing the drywall in the bedrooms and living room.

Same room, just at either ends

Closet between both rooms

The kitchen cupboards are built and installed and painted, the dishwasher and stove are in place, the wall in the kitchen is completely removed, the countertop, and backsplash are picked out, but need to be installed. The windows will be in on the first week of September, and the flooring is picked out, but we need to set a day for them to install.

Next week Audrey will be in gymnastics camp from 8-5, so that should be an easier week.  Though she does help me a ton with Jake.  She keeps him entertained by playing with him.  Their favorite thing to do is pushing Jake through the house in the cozy coupe.  Jake loves it and gets mad when she stops.

Monthly update

Oh my gosh...... It has been a busy, crazy, couple of weeks.  We have been working very hard on our house. My parents want us in ASAP, and Dan and I can only do so much by ourselves.  My brother has been working everyday, getting a ton of stuff done.

We have the wall in the kitchen knocked down, the wiring finished, the well almost done, dishwasher and stove installed and cabinets are being sanded and painted.  We should be ready to move in, 4 weeks out.

I have been super exhausted.  I've work everyday 8-6:30.  I don't have any energy to accomplish the chores that need to be done.  House is a wreak, dishes piled in the sink, piles upon piles of clothes needing to be washed, the list is endless.  I cannot wait til our house is finished and we can finally relax.

Jake is a busy boy.  He is crawling and climbing on everything.  He also got his top 2 teeth in last weekend.  It is amazing how quickly that child is growing!

I will try to get better at blogging, but not much is happening.  Not much worth blogging about.

Vacation......yea, right

This week both Dan and I are on vacation.  Instead of going somewhere and doing fun things, we are at our new house working our tushies off. We start around 9 am and finish around 4 pm.

Dans working on the walls.  He had to pull off the dated paneling, knock down walls and closets, and get all the wiring out from the rooms.  It's very stressful and hard work and is taking him all week to get it finished.  I would help but I just get in the way.

My jobs are to mow the lawn, water our new garden we put in last week with the help of my parents, and take down the back splash in the kitchen.  Now that sucks.  I have to use a crowbar and hammer at weird angles and chip off the small tiles.  My arms and hands are so sore.

We are slowly fixing the house.  We still have a long way to get it how we want it.  My parents are putting a lot pressure on us to get stuff done, but the things we are doing are long, hard, and time consuming.  We can only exhaust ourselves for so long.  It's not like we are sitting around doing nothing..........

Bon voyage Jenny

Today me sister left for England! She will be gone for 2 weeks and I don't know what I am going to do without her.

My sister lives in an apartment at school with a roommate who is from England.  Since it's summer, her roommate, Louise, went back home to visit her family.  Loise invited Jenny to visit her in England and offered for her to stay at her parents house.  How could she pass that up?  What a great experience!

I am going to miss her so much.  She is my best friend and I am so glad I have her as my sister.  She is a great listener and knows when to offer advice and when to just let me vent.  We call each other at least 2 times a week, just to catch up.  She is great with Jake and loves to be with him.

Oh the things you can do with babies!

I love this face!!

First time homeowners!

We finally have a house! After 3 months of looking we found our forever home.

It is in a great location for both of us.  10 minute drive to get to work for me and a 20 minute drive for Dan.  It's in a paved lane, with neighbors that are close, but not on top of us.  It has about an acre and a giant pull barn.  It has 3 beds ( which we plan on taking one out and making the other 2 bigger) and one bath.  Just enough space for the 3 of us, but it also has room to expand if need be.

The problem, ( you knew there was going to be one ;)) is that the house needs lots of work and we won't be able to move in until it's all finished.
We need:
A new septic field
A new well
Furnace
Water heater
Flooring in the whole house
Windows
A new electrical system
Many branches cut down
Walls taken down and put up in different places
Plus all the small appliances- dishwasher, washer, dryer, stove, fridge, microwave.....

You might be thinking, why did we buy it then? Because we wanted a house to fix up and make our own and have it perfect for us.  Plus the price was amazing.

We have a lot of work to do, but in the end it will be worth it!
