An outing

The other day Jenny came over to see the boys and hang out. We waited until Dan came home from work then Jenny, Jake, and I went out to eat and shop while Cal and Dan stayed home. Our first stop was to target to get diapers and wipes for the boys and Jenny needed shirts.

After having success and finding what we needed to went to Noodles and Co. for dinner.  Mine was delicious! I think Jake liked his also.

Our last place was to the cupcake bakery for dessert.  By this time it was 6:30 pm but felt like 8:00 pm so we came home.  Jake and I love getting out of the house and spending time with Jenny.

Rough week

There is some bad juju in our house this week.  Between my body failing me and Cal being a complete mess, it's amazing we survived this week.

On Tuesday I was putting the wash into the dryer and bent over to push the pile in when I felt a pop in my lower back.  It hurt so bad I could only just stand there hunched over.  I couldn't move for 2 minutes.  Since that, it's been hurting nonstop. It hurts to sit, stand up, bend over, basically any movement kills me.  On top of that I did something to my neck and it hurts like the dickens to turn any way.  So my whole upper body is useless.  Getting old sucks.

Caleb is popping some teeth and is a crying mess.  Cutting teeth is not for wussies that's for sure.  He spends his days crying and wanting to be held.  I can barely get anything done due to holding him all day.  Some one needs to tell that kid that he is not the center of the universe!

Jake tries to help by giving Cal hugs, but most of the time ends up squishing him.

My back and Cal are the 2 biggest upsets but we are also dealing with Jakes 2 year old temper tantrums,

Dans seriously bad moods, the never ending leaves falling, and every day stresses.  Life is not just about the good stuff. The fun stuff.  It's dealing with awful, stressful, frustrating, sad inducing situations.  Most of my posts are happy and upbeat because no one wants to read about me complaining.  But sometimes I need to vent my frustrations and show the world that no one is perfect. Not even me ;)

Last warm days

When the weather is cooperating we head outside to soak up the last warm days of fall.  Cal is finally old enough to play in the play yard and not be confined to the stroller.  He doesn't play with the toys but likes to look around and enjoy the sounds of nature.

Jake loves his cozy coupe.  He pushes it up and down the driveway and recently learned to turn it into tight circles until he falls over from being so dizzy.  Sometimes he will push the car all over the yard.  On those days he sleeps like a champ!

And then there's Lily and Carrots.  Best buds!

Frankenmuth anniversary

This weekend we went to Frankenmuth to celebrate our 6th year anniversary.  We decided to go a bit earlier due to crappy weather and loads of people that are there in November.  We picked a great day! The weather was beautiful, 60s and sunny.  There were a bunch of people there and as time passed, more people were arriving.

We did some window shopping when we first arrive.  Dan took Jake into the toy store and the fudge shop while Cal and I looked at the beautiful flowers.

Then it was time for chicken dinner!

We shopped a little bit after lunch until it became too crowded to walk and maneuver the stroller.  We then went to the Christmas store.  It was nuts. People everywhere!  We didn't spend too long in there, just enough time to find what we were looking for.

It was a pretty lame celebration.  We didn't get to fully enjoy it because both kids hated being stuck in the stroller and there were always people in the way.  Maybe we will do something else next year or possibly go earlier.

My six month sweetheart

A half a year old!

Holy cow.  Where is the time going?  It doesn't seem possible that Cal is already 6 months.  Yikes!

The blah blahs

My mom called me the other day to catch up and I had absolutely nothing to tell her.  Since we got back from Georgia our days are very lazy and unexciting. Dan goes to work, Jake plays, Cal naps, and I read.

There is seriously nothing else to report.  Just letting you all know that I am alive.

Home

Friday we left at 3 am.  We said goodbye to the kids the night before and Ben and Beth woke up to see us off.  We had a great time in Georgia!  It was sad to leave them, not knowing when we would see them next.  I think we will go again next year!

Now we are back home and it's so quiet and boring.   I loved having Beth around to talk to and the kids around to play with my boys.  Thanks for having us Ben and Beth, and providing a place to sleep so we didn't have to pay for a hotel.  We had a great time and we miss you guys so much.

BETH! We never took a picture with just us.  We will have to fix that next time.

Georgia day 4 & 5

On Wednesday we spent the morning at home letting the kids play and the adults chat.

We had lunch at Chick-Fil-A, which was very yummy, but very stressful.  Ordering food for 10 people while trying to calm 6 kids is absolute nuts.  After everyone was sufficiently stressed and full, the boys ran some errands while Beth, the kids, and I came back home for nap time.

I have to say, my boys slept like champs the whole trip.  Because there was so much going on, both Jake and Cal were over stimulated and needed a chance to wind down.  Dan and I made dinner for everyone as a thank you for letting us stay with them.  No one, and I mean no one liked our dinner.  It was very heartbreaking to see full plates instead of empty ones.

After kids bedtime we played more board games and had drank some homemade slushies.  Not only were my boys exhausted, but Dan and I were also.  It's hard to recover from driving 12 hours and constantly being on the go, wether it's playing with the kids or on an outing.  We felt like terrible guests going to bed at 9 every night and wished we had more energy to stay awake for longer.

Georgia day 5

Thursday after hanging out at home and playing, we all went to a park to take family photos.  I think Beth did a great job capturing our family.

Then the boys shot off rockets.

Jake had no interest in rockets so I set up some toys to keep him distracted from pushing buttons in the car.  Pretty soon, the rest of the kids joined.

We came home after rockets to eat lunch and take naps then we went to the pool.

We didn't swim for long due to the cold water.  We had lemon chicken for dinner then called it an early night since we decided to leave at 3:00 am again because it was a success the first time.
