Family swim
After Dan came home from work, we went for a swim in our awesome kiddie pool. Jake loves the water no matter the temp and Cal has no opinion.

My sweet little Cal
He is such a happy guy. Always smiling, cooing and laughing. Jake was never this happy, he was a very serious baby. It melts my heart when he gives this huge smile and laughs. Makes being a mother so rewarding!

Sick boy and Father's Day
My Jake is sick. He has a horrible cough, runny nose, and a sore throat. He's very inactive, which is rare for this busy boy, cries for everything, and wants lots of snuggles. This is the first time he has been sick since he was born, which is pretty good for being 18 months.
We spent the last 2 days watching tv and relaxing. I hope this goes away soon, I hate seeing him feeling so crummy.
Due to Jake feeling like poo, we had a very low key Father's Day. I already gave dan his gifts with his birthday ones so he didn't open any presents. I got him a pull saw. He uses it almost everyday.
We didn't have a special dinner or do anything fun. We stayed at home and tried to comfort our sick boy the best we could. Happy special day to my husband who is an amazing partner and father, and the one I want to be with for the rest of my life.

Box # 2
Yesterday was got our 2nd box from Citrus Lane, my sister gave Jake a 3 month subscription. Jake was very excited for this one and kept saying "WOW" every time he pulled something out.
This box had a hammering toy, a pot with a spatula and spoon, a yogurt berry pouch, a cup that has a hidden animal in the bottom of it to get kids to finish whatever is in there and see the animal, and a $10 gift card to Boom Boom Prints, which is an online company who designs special prints and places them in frames and bags. www.boomboomprints.com

Wild weekend part 2
Sunday we went to my parents house so my family could celebrate Dan's birthday. We had gyros for lunch and chocolate cake for dessert. He received a Home Depot gift card and 2 visa gift cards. The boys and I got him a 2 Lego mini figures, a nerf gun and a grill brush. Lame, I know, but he said he didn't want anything.
After lunch we sat around and played with the boys. The weather was crap, rainy and cold, so we spend our time indoors.

Wild weekend part 1
This weekend we were pretty busy. Saturday Ben and Allison came over to watch the boys so we could have a date night. They bought Jake this really cool castle tent that he absolutely loves. He takes his Thomas chair in there and reads with his stuffed animals.
For our big date night, we went to Qudoba for dinner, then to Toys r Us to buy presents for our nephew. After shopping we stopped for froyo and people watched.
We had nothing else we wanted to do so we came back home, just in time to put Jake to bed! We had treated ourselves and bought a new game so naturally we had to play it before Ben and Allison went home. Basically you had to create the longest trail with your colored puzzle pieces. It was a crazy game...
Thank you Ben and Allison for babysitting and giving us a much needed break! I know Jake loves playing with you guys and Caleb will too!!
Here are some pictures from them babysitting:

Pay it forward
I have seen this everywhere but have never been apart of it. Basically you do an act of kindness for someone you don't know, and you do it annonamously.
I was in the drive thru at Taco Bell and was trying to hand my money to the cashier when he told me that the car in front of me paid for my entire meal! I had about $16 worth of food ordered and they paid the whole thing. Apparently they told the cashier to tell me to have a great day.
Now it's my turn to pay it forward. I don't know how I will do it, but my goal is to do it by the end of next week. Hopefully I can make someone's day, just like someone made my day!

Sign language
Dan and Jake have been working very hard to learn baby sign language. Jake has mastered "more"! He will sign when asked and he will sign when he truly does want more. Last night we paused the tv and he immediately started signing more. It was pretty awesome to see him show us that he wanted more tv instead of screaming.
Look how proud and happy he is!
The sign for more has many variations, but the one he picked up on was taking your pointer finger and pushing it to the palm of your other hand. I never thought sign language was something I needed to teach my kids. I also feel that it delays speech even though there are studies proven that it doesn't. I'm glad that Dan is working with Jake and bonding with him. I think they are working on "all done" "eat" and "drink" next. Yeah Jakey!!!!! Such a smart little boy!

Farm Fun
Sunday I took the boys over to my parents house so Dan could do some chores. Since it was such a beautiful day my mom wanted to go to the park farm. Naturally I didn't bring the stroller so we had to use the wagon.
