Jake's first swim

This weekend we hauled out the kiddie pool so Jake could go "swimming".  He was a little hesitant at first, but once his body warmed to the water, he loved it!

He loves to splash and get me all wet.  I can't get too mad because the cool water feels refreshing in the hot sun.  I have a feeling we will be in the pool a lot this summer!

We love the great outdoors!

I am so happy that Jake (and hopefully Cal) loves being outside. He runs to the door crying, asking to go play outside.  He also knows to get his socks and shoes on before heading out.  I hope this love for outside continues and I don't have 2 boys that want to play video games and watch tv instead of enjoying nature.

Caleb sits in the stroller and looks around all wide eyed until the soothing sounds of nature put him to sleep!  I can't wait until he's a little bit older and can sit in the grass and interact with toys.

I try to stand in the sun as much as I can to get rid of the Polish paleness.

Frustrating

This is my headache room.  It seems no matter how hard I try, it's always a disasterious mess.  When we have something that doesn't have a place in the house, we throw it into this room.  Eventually we amass so much crap, that things get put anywhere. I organize this room at least every 2 weeks and it seems like a day goes by and it's back to being cluttered.

Our plan is to turn this into the main living room.  We want to get all the crap out of it, carpet it, fix the fireplace, and make it livable.  But none of that will happen until we clean it out.  I guess for the next couple of weeks, I will be in here clearing it out.

Jake's first haircut

My little shag-a-muffin finally got his hair buzzed.  He did great!  The whole time my dad was shaving, Jake sat very still.  He never cried or tried to move his head away.  I am very proud of him!

My sister was there to help in case he freaked out, but he handled it so well considering it was his first major haircut.  Thanks to my dad and sister for helping keep Jake cool in the warm weather!

A fun surprise

Today we recieved a box in the mail.

When we opened it, we discovered it was a box of goodies for Jake.  Apparently with citrus lane you receive a signature box each month with four or more products selected especially for the age and stage of your child.

Here are the things that came in the box:

2 snack sticks that Jake loved but Dan and I hated... They were super gross.

There was a packing slip that said it was a gift from my sister.  She got us a 3 month subscription, so we will get 2 more boxes!! Thank you so much Jen.  What a great idea!

Cuddle time

Caleb and I finally got some 1 on 1 time today, and how did we spend it?  By sleeping!  There is just something so relaxing about a baby sleeping on your chest.  Their warmth, and breathing just puts me right to bed.

It doesn't last long.  Between Jake waking from a nap and Caleb needing to eat, we only get 45 minutes of peace.  I will enjoy it when I can!

My big helper

Jake has been a great "helper" lately.  Any chore I do, he has to help.  I always make sure to praise him when we are done, so he learns that chores are fun!  Maybe this will help make him tolerate them when he gets older.
