Sister Day

Yesterday Jake and I had the opportunity to visit my sister.  She currently attends college and is in the doctoral program.  Due to the amount of work she has and the busyness of both our schedules, I don't see her as much as I would like.  She lives an hour away, which isn't too bad, but when we both have conflicting schedules, it's hard to make time.

We wanted to do some shopping and get some Christmas gifts taken care of for our family.  First we went to Joanns to get the fabric needed to make a tie blanket (like the ones Jake and I have) so we could make one for our sister in law.

Then we went to Hobby Lobby.  That store is nuts.  Picture Michaels and Joanns together! I have never been and definitely didn't stay long enough.  If I didn't have Jake and my sister, I could have spent all day there.

By this time we were starving and Jake was tired of being confined to sitting, so we went back to her apartment and ate 5 guys!  After that we started working on our mothers yearly calendar.  Every year we make her a calendar about the family and the places and things we do.  We usually scrapbook each month and it takes forever, because we have to come up with a layout, design and matching colors.  This year my sister found a new way to make a calendar.  It comes with clear plastic pages that you can insert pictures and card stock cards (provided by the company that makes it).  So much quicker.

By the time we had 5 pages done, it was 4 and time to head home for dinner.

Thanks for spending the day with us Jen.  I had fun and I know Jake loved spending time with you!
