Cal's first hair cut

Cal's luscious locks are no more.

We buzzed it all off.

I loved Cal's hair.  It was so long, soft and very fine.  But with the weather only getting hotter, we had to cut it off to keep him cool.  When we visited my parents over the weekend, I had them shave both boys.  Cal did so well for his first real haircut.  He sat in the chair and let my dad work.  He only put up a fight when all his stray hairs were itching and tickling him.

I miss my baby's locks.  I wish I had some talent in hair cutting so I could trim his hair and not get rid of it.  But he will be cooler and it will be easier to wash.

Outside fun

The weather here has finally gotten above 80 so after work yesterday we set up the dog sprinkler that Jenny got for Caleb.

Jake had no problem running through it and getting wet.  Cal on the other hand wanted nothing to do with it and cried when I brought him near it.

Of course Lily and Careots had to join in on the fun.

Thanks for the fun sprinkler Jen! It's suppose to be hot hot hot here for the week so I have a feeling we will be using the sprinkler a lot!

NAIL UPDATE:

The other day Dan pulled the toenail off of Jakes toe.  It didn't seem to hurt him, but it looks so gross.  We are curious to see if the infection killed everything or just that portion of the nail.

Toes feet and legs

Jakes toe is getting better.  It still looks really gross, but it's no longer swollen and red. We think that the nail and the skin around the toe is dying or dead and causing it to turn white.

There is also a blister forming around the nail.  Super funky...   It doesnt hurt him anymore and he has no problem walking.

The new issue is bumps and red skin on his feet and legs.

I don't know if it's a rash or a skin irritant.  This does not bug him in any way, but it's slowly creeping it's way up his legs.  Looks like it's another trip to the doctors.

This little piggy went ow ow ow

We noticed a couple of days ago that Jake was limping slightly.  I checked out both his feet but didn't see anything wrong.  Yesterday he was limping noticeably.  Again, I checked his foot for bites, bruises, or cuts.  I poked and prodded everywhere and got no reaction from him.  While at work later that night, I received a message from Dan say that Jakes toe is now read and inflamed and he is in pain.  I couldn't do much for him while being at work, and him going to bed.

This morning when he woke up his toe was very red and very swollen.  I decided to take him to urgent care and not wait until Monday to see his pediatrician.

After what felt like hours, we were seen and was told he had an infection.  The doctor gave us a prescription and I was told to watch the redness and swollenness to make sure it didn't spread.

Waiting room fun

I just want to go home

We have to go back in 3 days to make sure it's healing.  Poor buddy is in pain and limps everywhere.  Sometimes he randomly cries and gets very antsy.  I feel bad for the little guy, and I hope this medicine works quickly.

Tantrum walk

After playing outside all afternoon and eating dinner, we went to the hike/bike trial for a nature walk.

We didn't walk for long, Jake wanted to play in the pond which was not safe due to it being so deep.  It was frustrating constantly pulling him away from the water and him throwing his 2 year old tantrums. Caleb was very tired and just sat back and enjoyed the ride.

I think next time we go, we will walk in the opposite direction so there won't be any fits.
