Jakey and Gavin

My god I love this kid!  He makes me so happy! Though he does get on my nerves and stresses me out, I can't imagine life without him.

In other news, Gavin's therapy hours were bumped from 20 to 35!   Once the company hires another therapist, Gavin will be busy all day. The most I would see him would be between sessions, an hour max. I don't know if the family will still want me to stay, or they might realize I am being paid to play with my own child. I don't know what the future holds, but I am going to take it as it comes and not stress.

Happy Halloween

My sister in law Allison bought Jake a ninja turtle costume and it was awesome!

We had this great plan to take him trick or treating in the wagon at Ben and Allisons house and get lots of cute pictures, but typical Michigan weather sucked.  It was in the 30s and SNOWING! That's right, snowing.  Instead we sat inside, watched Halloween movies, and ate pizza. We left at 7:30 like usual. So overall Jake first Halloween was a bust.  Hope yours was better.

Stress week

This week Gavin's main therapist, who comes everyday for at least 2 hours is on her honeymoon. Her last day was last week Wednesday.  She did manage do get some of her hours covered, but not all of them.  That means I have to keep Gavin entertained all day..........

This is very hard because we have limited  places to play. We have our cozy corner filled with toys but that gets boring real quick.

We also play in his room, but toys are limited. The basement is finished but the mom works down there.  Most of the day Gavin spends his time lying down and grinding his teeth which is a horrible noise. The other part of day, Gavin likes to chew on anything he can find.   We used to go outside to play and go for walks but it's fall so it's rainy and 40 degrees out.

I am so tired telling him to stop putting things in his mouth and to stop making that horrific noise.  Today I have a huge headache from it.

One piece of good news..... My amazing sister inlaw got me a booster seat, so I can now feed Jake at work!!!!!  How awesome and thoughtful is she? Thank you so much Beth!!!
Today's menu was cheese, turkey, strawberries, pears, and fig newtons.

Look at how cute his little feet stick out!

Happy birthday Allison

This weekend we did not move in.  There are still too many little jobs that need to get done.  We did clear out our guest bedroom though.  Instead we celebrated my sister inlaws birthday.

We had chili and cornbread for dinner and a crazy funfetti cake for dessert.

After dinner Allison opened her gifts.  She got winter boots, a couple of cute kitchen knickknacks, gift cards and a photo collage of her and Jake.

By that time Jake was done and had a meltdown, so we left.  Sunday we had family day and were able to do some shopping and spending time together.  Hope you had a great weekend!

Food is delicious!!

I love that my little man eats anything and everything!! Whatever we put in front of him, he eats it all.  Hotdogs, omelets, chili cheese fries, hash browns, Mac and cheese, any fruit, any veggie.  I am so glad I don't have a picky eater, though that might come later......

Here he is, throwing a fit because I am not making breakfast quick enough.

I'm suppose to give him 3 meals a day of solids and I am sure he would do great without a bottle, but at work I don't have the means, time or resources to feed him.  The biggest problem is I have no where for him to sit while he eats.  I have been holding off buying a booster seat, but once he hits a year, he has to stop bottles, leaving only solids.

Happily eating, and yes, he is a lefty like his Aunt Beth!!

Today's breakfast was toast, grapes, puffs, and water.  Yum!

Oh my aching tooth

For the last couple of weeks my tooth has been killing me.  I tried to look in the mirror to see a problem, but of course it's my very last tooth on the top so looking is impossible.  I can feel a crack on the outside though.  Sometimes it hurts so bad, that it keeps me awake at night, and then I get an earache and a headache.  I finally made an appointment last night.  Side note.... How do parents go to appointments with their children.  I know Jake would be in everything and probably have a major meltdown and be a pain.  All my appointments have to be after 4 so Dan can watch him.

I found out that my tooth has a huge cavity but it's not caved in.  It's hallowed out.  It looked pretty gross on the x-Ray.  They are trying to stay away from a root canal, so I go back in a couple of weeks and get it filled.  Hopefully it won't hurt as bad.  The dentist told me that sugar aggravates it and cause more pain, so I have to stay away from any sugar.  Problem is, I've been having a major upset stomach and jolly ranchers seem to calm it.  Jake and I are going to the grocery store today to find me more snacks.

Soak up that heat

We have heat!!! Let the move in chaos begin.

My house is not even half packed. It's very hard to pack with a baby. He either is in everything or screaming because I am out of sight.  I can't even pack while he is napping because he is such a light sleeper, the littlest thump wakes him right up.

This weekend was pretty nice due to Dan being home.  We had some confusion with the company turning the heat on, so Dan was home all day Saturday.   We were able to get our grocery shopping done and the deck power washed.   Sunday, Dan went to the house to meet the heat people and fix some odds and ends.  He was home by 2.  We finished power washing and relaxed the rest of the day.  By this time next week we should be all moved in!! Here's hoping......

On the move....

Jake has started walking on his own this week!!!  He started with 3 steps then crash to his booty, now he can cruise around the living room with no problem.  My baby is only 10 months and he's walking!!!!!!

Sorry for the multiple photos. I can't get the video player to work... Boo.......

Fall

Fall is officially here!  The trees have turned beautiful colors of red orange and yellow.  I love driving down the road looking at the brilliant vibrant shades.

The trees have just started losing the leaves. Our front yard is covered!  Most of the time fall is very dreary and cold, but we have some beautiful warm sunny days and that's when the cider mills are packed. It's impossible to go to one and enjoy it because of the mass amounts of people.  Maybe we will go at the end of the season when everyone has had their fill.
