Garage sale

This weekend my sister and my mom decided to have a garage sale at our house.  They brought all their stuff and tables Wednesday.  Thrusday they spent all day organizing and setting up.  Friday was the first day selling and they apparently did great!  They had people come in a steady stream all day.  I was not there because I had to work. Saturday we added more things and made it look full again, but there were only a handful of people.  It was a bummer.  We did have fun playing with Jake and making up weird games.

When we finally closed, it was a pain to clean it alll up.  It was so much work. We did throw away a ton of stuff that people didn't look at, so with what we sold and what we threw away, it was about half the stuff.  My sister and I plan to have another one at the end of summer.  Hopefully we will get more people and can get rid of more junk.

Haircut

I finally got my hair cut after weeks of putting it off.  My hair was super long and hard to take care of.  It's so thick and heavy.  I wanted it cut to about my shoulders and styled but all he did ( yes my stylist was a male and it was totally weird for me.) was cut it straight across and curled it.  I wanted a little bit more flair than that. Maybe next time.  I did cut off 8 inches and plan to give it to Locks of Love or something like that.

Summer vacation

Summer has officially started.  It has been in the 90's this week with high humidity and makes it very hard to go outside.  We spend a lot of the time inside.  I try to go for a walk at least once a day, but sometimes Gavin's therapy schedule makes it hard.  

I have been so exhausted this week.  Watching 3 kids who all need supervision is very tiring.  It doesn't help that Jake only sleeps for 3- 1 hour naps.  As soon as my head hits the pillow, I am fast asleep.  I guess it's better than not sleeping at all......

Our day consists of a morning walk, playing, therapy, coloring, helping Audrey with workbooks, outside time, and more playing.  It does get very boring sitting inside all day, but it don't think the mom is comfortable having me take all 3 kids somewhere.  Its going to be a very long summer.

Dan's first Fathers Day and birthday weekend

Today Dan had his first Father's Day.  We spent it at my parents though, celebrating Fathers Day and Dans birthday.  My family always celebrates Dan birthday, because his own parents don't.  For Father's Day, Jake got him a photo collage and a cute shirt.

Then at my parents house he got 2 lego sets, a jelly belly dispenser, lego mini figures and a Home Depot gift card.

Both Dan and my dad opened their presents, then we had lunch of hotdogs, potato salad, watermelon, and chips.  We had Dans favorite cake, yellow cake with chocolate frosting for desert. 

After that we spent the whole afternoon playing some weird frisbee game.  Basically you have 2 people who try and throw a frisbee into a trash can like container.  Depending on where the frisbee lands, your team get a certain number of points.  It's a ton of fun! More details here....

We eventually exhausted ourselves and came back home where we all took a nap.  Now we are chillin and watching Planes.

Happy first fathers Day Dan.  I hope you love being a dad and are so thankful that we have such a great son!

Also, happy Father's Day to my dad.  He is an amazing dad, patient, understanding, a hard worker, and a great grandpa!  I love you so much dad.  Thank you for everything you have done for Dan and I.

Happy birthday Dan

Today is Dan's birthday!! He hates celebrating and getting older so I always try to make his day fun.  Since it's on a weekday, we didn't do anything exciting.  Just had steak for dinner, and watched t.v. Like we do every night.  Dan got his presents a couple weeks ago, he didn't unwrap anything today.

One year I gave him a weird plant and he loved watching it grow, and got a huge thrill out of it, so every pile of gifts includes a weird plant.

I hope he had a great birthday! But I know birthdays suck when you get older.  So I don't blame him 

If he thought it was lame.  Next year I plan on taking him to Cedar point.  He asks to go every year and since I get extremely sick on rides we never go.  So that will be a surpise! Don't tell him!

Sister weekend!

I had a great weekend.  Busy, but fun!  Dan went Up North with his brother, dad and uncles to help put in a dock at an uncles cabin.  He left Friday after work and arrived back home around 4:00pm on Sunday.  Whenever Dan leaves I invite my sister to spend the weekend with me, so I am not home alone.  

I asked for Friday off, so I could take Jake to the doctors and hang out with Jenny for a whole day.  Usually I work all Friday and meet her at home.  So in the morning Jake had his 6 month checkup.  He has the beganings of a tooth, weights 18lbs and is doing great!  We met my sister at home, then went back out to Meijer to stock up on sugar and sweets for the weekend.  We came home and watched Orange Is The New Black for the rest of the night. Not as good as the first season, and we were both dissapointed.  

Saturday we spent all morning shopping at an outlet mall.  We bought way too much!  We had nasty froyo for lunch, then came home to recover and let Jake take a nap and a bath.

In the evening we went back out shopping and ate salad and breadsticks for dinner.  Sunday we went grocery shopping, then hung out with Jake before Jenny's roommate and boyfriend came over to play the wii u.  

Everyone including Jen left around 2:30 and I was left cleaning up the mess we made all weekend.  The house was a disaster.

I am glad Dan gets out of the house and spends time with the guys, but he always comes home tired and grumpy.  He just wants to relax and have me take care of everything.  But I also want to relax because I have been taking care of Jake and need a break from him.  Dan gets a vacation, but I don't . It sucks.

Milestones

Lately Jake has been reaching and surpassing his baby milestones.  He can roll front to back, and back to front, stand while leaning against something, eat his solids, and sit without help.  I tried to document it and failed miserably.  He would sit great and as soon as I got the camera out he would topple over.  Silly baby.

Sorry they are all blurry but he fell in every one.  I finally got a decent one.

Good job Jake! I am so proud you are hitting your milestones!!!!!
